Ordering Stone Furniture in Europe: Delivery, VAT and Customs Explained

Understand DLA Stone’s supported delivery zones, included VAT and import duties, kerbside service and address checks before ordering stone furniture.

Ordering natural stone furniture internationally involves more than choosing a table. Before paying, confirm the final specification, destination, delivery service and the total shown at checkout or in the written quotation. This guide explains DLA Stone’s delivery approach; the Shipping & Delivery Policy and confirmed order terms govern the service for your address.

Which destinations have included delivery?

DLA Stone advertises free insured kerbside delivery for eligible addresses in the European Union, United Kingdom, Norway, Switzerland and Serbia. Türkiye is also included in the store’s free-delivery zone. Serviceability must still be confirmed for islands, remote locations and restricted-access addresses.

Are VAT and import duties included?

VAT and applicable import duties and taxes are included for supported destinations. Where DDP is expressly stated at checkout or in your order confirmation, the agreed total includes export and import clearance, applicable duties and import taxes, international freight and standard kerbside delivery for that destination.

Do not assume a quotation for one country covers another address or an additional service. Check the confirmed total and destination before approving the order.

What about countries outside the free-delivery zone?

For supported destinations outside that zone, checkout currently adds a €1,500 freight charge. This is a shipping charge, not an instruction to pay taxes separately on arrival. VAT and applicable import duties remain included for supported destinations under the confirmed order terms.

If your destination is not enabled or your address needs special access arrangements, contact DLA Stone before ordering. The store does not guarantee delivery to every country or location.

What does kerbside delivery include?

The packaged furniture is delivered to a safe, vehicle-accessible unloading point outside the address. Standard delivery does not include indoor carrying, upstairs delivery, unpacking, assembly, installation, packaging removal or specialist lifting.

Arrange professional movers and suitable equipment if needed. Natural stone furniture can be very heavy; the correct team and equipment depend on the packaged dimensions, weight and route into the property.

Planning access and timing

Before confirming an order, measure doorways, stair turns, lifts and corridors and disclose narrow roads, gates, parking restrictions or remote-area access. Any extra service must be agreed and priced separately in writing.

Furniture is made to order after the specification, delivery details and required payment are confirmed. Production and delivery times are estimates unless a date is explicitly guaranteed in writing. Fabrication, crating, transport and customs can affect timing.

Receiving the delivery

Inspect the outside of the crate before it is moved or opened, photograph visible damage and ask the carrier to record it. Inspect the furniture as soon as reasonably possible and keep the packaging while any issue is being reviewed.

Follow the current reporting process in the shipping policy and damaged-order policy. The shipping policy asks for visible transit damage to be reported within 48 hours; this does not remove statutory rights.

Before you pay: a short checklist

  • Confirm the stone, finish, dimensions and construction.
  • Check the delivery country, postcode and total price.
  • Read the stated DDP and kerbside service conditions.
  • Agree any extra handling or access services in writing.
  • Arrange the route, movers and equipment needed after delivery.
